Abstract

This research problem is defined in covering cultural issues, topics, and activities through exposing the journalistic treatment of these cultural issues, topics, and activities. We are going to distinguish the ratio of issues and their development rate, selecting Egyptian news sites to identify aspects of coverage and the role of these sites towards handling these issues in terms of the media gate of journalists, added to that the theoretical critical cultural frameworks, particularly, the stage post 25 January, 2011 as being the stage has witnessed critical changes and transformations that have led into change in content of some eminent issues and emergence of new cultural issues that no other studies have tackled before for their remarkable novelty.

Study Significance: This study significance comes as a complementary part that hasn’t been handled by previous studies that most of them have focused on the communication with audience. Nevertheless, the studies have tackled with the content of the editing cultural material are rare. The study is also significant for standing on news sites to evaluate objectively their role and nature towards the cultural affairs, contributing in evaluating the news’ sites editing policy and journalistic practice in general. Moreover, the study compares scientifically three Egyptian sites as the most eminent news sites in Egypt. This comparison assists identifying the strength and weakness points in the cultural affair, being represented in providing a database of quality of issues and values concerning culture that electronic news sites diffuse inside the Egyptian society.
