Abstract

The plant world is a rich resource of biochemically active compmmds. This encouraged many scientists to seek about botanical substance of special importance in different aspects such as medicine, agriculture and industry. Entomologists have achieved some successes in using certain plant constituents as pest control agents which make as an alternative safe control agent to man, animal, plant and environment when used .
In the present study, considerable effort was devoted to

search for some new botanical extracts containing naturally occurring compounds that have insecticidal activities against the Egyptian cotton leaf worm , Spodoptera littoralis ( Boisd ) , which represents one of the most destructive cotton pests in• Egypt and many other countries .
