HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA NEW MODALITIES OF EARLY DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT

Abstract

HCC is one of the commonest malignancies in the world. The prolonged survival depend on the early diagnosis. In this work we are discussing the new methods used in early detection of this disease including the serological tumor markers and the imaging procedures as US, CT, MRI and Doppler. We also discuss the new events as regarding treatment of this disease such as the radiofrequency ablation, the cryosurgery and the targeted therapy in addition to the recent changes in the previously used methods in treatment of such disease. In this work also we present a statistical study about the experience of the Kasr Eleini and the Natio.nal Cancer Institute in managing such cases in the last three years.
