Drug Eluting Stents Role In Decreasing Incidence of Restenosis Mter Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Abstract


The aim of our study was to study the role of drug eluting stens in decreasing the incidence of instent restenosis in comparison to bare metal stents. The study was conducted on 62 patients with CAD subjective to elective PC!. Patients wee divided into two groups, group I 30 patients subjected to PC! using drug eluting stents and 32 patients subjected to PC! using bare metal stents. Results revealed lower incidence of restenosis among the drug eluting stent group (4.5%, compared to bare metal stent group (47%).
