COMBINED CERVICAL EPIDURAL ANALGESIA WITH LIGHT GENERAL ANESTHESIA IN MORBIDLY OBESE PATIENTS FOR UPPER ABDOMINAL SURGERY

Abstract
Morbidly obese patients are very high risk group especially when undergoing upper abdominal operations that are highly indicated for these groups of patients e.g., gastroplasty for weight reduction, cholecystectomy .... etc.
Many medical problems are associated with morbidly obese patients such as airways, respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal and endocrinal problems.
The aim of this work is detecting the most suitable adjuvant light general anesthesia for cervical epidural analgesia as regard their hemodynamics effects, effects on recovery time and postoperative pulmonary functions in morbidly obese patients subjected to upper abdominal operations.
