Hepatocyte Growth Factor in Critically Ill Patients

Abstract
The care of seriously ill or injured children has become very challenging. Many efforts have been done aiming to improve the performance and the output of critically ill patients admitted to ICUs. Hence, the aim of our study was to determine whether or not HGF can be used as a marker for morbidity and mortality of those patients.
The present study was conducted on 51 patients. They were divided into two groups :
Pediatric group : the mean for their age is 2.41 yrs.
Neonatal group : 44% are F.T, 12% NT and 44% are
PT Babies.
as regard sex distribution of the two groups 62% were female patients and 38% were male patients.•
75% of our patients in both groups were mechanically ventilated.
All patients were subjected to detailed history taking, clinical examination, complete blood picture
