Abstract


The improvement of soil agricultural is the cornerstone of the implementation of the State's policy of vertical expansion, which is vital in addressing soil and access problems to marginal productivity, due to the main problems of cultivated soil, and the burden it receives on agricultural production and what it reflects Therefore, from a huge impact on the national economy, the Ministry of Agriculture issued Presidential Decree No. 2431 of 1971, which establishes the authority of the executive branch of land improvement projects with the aim of addressing the problems of agricultural soil erosion and raising its productive and limited viability Egypt's agricultural land resources and scarcity, their encroachment has been aggravated either by dredging or by the deduction of areas to build on them, as well as about the decline in agricultural land and the high level of its terrestrial water, thereby reducing its productive capacity, which requires the need Take all necessary measures and methods to protect, maintain and improve agricultural land resources, hence the importance of studying land improvement activity as one of the important vertical agricultural economic development programmes.
Aims of study in generally:
Study the effect of the expansion of soil agricultural improvement and maintenance programmes on the production of wheat and rice crops in Kafr al-Sheikh governorate season 2015/2016, in order to reach some recommendations that may benefit policymakers in charting an integrated plan for soil improvement On the one hand, and to ensure that agricultural land resources are protected from being encroached upon by dredging or building to achieve the development goals economic and social sectors in the Egyptian agricultural sector on the other hand, the objective of the study is achieved by achieving the following sub-aims:
1. To identify the reasons for the low productivity of the wheat and rice crop in Kafr el-Sheikh governorate.
