Rat renal failure anti therapeutic intake of allopurinol and garlic oil "Allium sativu1n"

Nashwa Ahmed Fawzy El Shinnawy;

Abstract

The prese nt work is an altcmpt to elucidate the synergistic effects of administration of therapeutic allopw·inol treatment or/and garlic oil " Allium sativum" on induced renal failure by gentamici n in male albino rats . It involved different aspects of study namely the biochemical parameters and histological studies of the kidney tissue.

Results were obtained from seven experimental groups given different doses of allopurinol or/and garlic oi l in nonnal or renal failure rats induced by (gentamicin) . These were fw·ther compared with normal control group . Renal failure rats with both treatments (allopminol or/and garlic oil) were again compared to the gentrunicin group.

The present fmdings were then discussed in view of relevant literatme available in similar fields of studies .

According to the present study it could be deduced that the administration of antiox.idrults such as garlic oil "Allium sativum" is prefened in addition to the treatment of choice i.e allopwinol in renal failure patients . In addition suggestions for further studies were recommended .
