Abstract

here are significant changes in breast shape and contour during the 1st post-operative year after any breast reduction technique. Our work was dedicated to study the post-operative changes and outcome in the superior and medial pedicle vertical scar reduction mammoplasty techniques.
The shape of the breast immediately after surgery appears very different from the final form. It is important for the surgeon to know the significant changes during the post-operative phase to be able to effectively plan the operation.
For the patient it can be quite shocking to see her new breast immediately after surgery therefore it is important to prepare the patient and explain how the breast will change during the post-operative phase.
The present study establishes a foundation to provide guidelines for preoperative surgical planning and intraoperative surgical decision to optimize post-operative results.
The majority of changes takes place in the first 3 months after surgery, Later the breast will have a shape similar to its final appearance however minor changes will continue over one year after surgery.
Knowing in advance the changes that occur in the SN-N distance in superior pedicle technique allow surgeons to reassure
