Abstract

ABSTRACT
During the last few decades, increased numbers of investigations have been carried out to improvedrip irrigation effect on the properties of sunflower crop in the reclaimed land, with the shortage of water and increased water use efficiency. Experiments were carried in 2013 - 2014 (summer season) out in a private farm in Wady Al Molak - area - Ismailia governorate. (Ismailia road kilo, 76). The main idea of this research is to study the effect of using drip irrigation on the properties’ of the Sunflower oil. Two varieties of Sunflower Sakha 53, Giza 102 were used in the experiments. Four irrigation water treatments (0.50, 0.60, 0.80, and 1.0 of the reference crop evapotranspiration) were applied under drip irrigation system GR, 4 liter diameter 16 mm with 30 cm emitters spacing by two systems: -The first was Surface DripIrrigation (SDI) and the second was Subsurface Drip Irrigation (SSDI).Emitters were fixed at 25 cm depth under soil surface. The Sunflower crop seed yield of each treatment was collected and measured. Data revealed that,at the1st season variety, Sakha 53 yielded the longest plantheight 180.7(cm),higher values of head diameter 24.72(cm), the highest seed yield (1178kg/fed) and the highest oil percentage (43.4%) applying water 100% of the ETo SSDI and the lowermost plant height 125.4 (cm). The lower values of head diameter15.36 (cm) lowest seed yield (612kg/fed) lowest oil percentage (30.4%)by applying water 50% of the ETo SDI. Water use efficiency (WUE) of seed yield was greater in (SSDI) then (SDI). (WUE) of oil was greater in (SSDI) then (SDI) in all treatments. Giza102 gave the longest plantheight 172.5 (cm) head diameter 21.8 (cm) highest seed yield (1055kg/fed) byapplying water 100% of the ETo SSDI. The highest oil percentage (41.3%) applying water 80% of the ETo SSDI. The least plant height was 118.1 (cm), head diameter 10.03 (cm) least seed yield (518kg/fed) least oil percentage (28.1%) waswhen applying 50% of the ETo . SDI gave the highest value of (WUE)of seed yield whenapplying water 50% of the ETo SSDI. (WUE) of oil was greater in (SSDI) then (SDI) in all treatments.
