Abstract
Chronic urticaria (CU) with or without angioedema
is a common allergic skin condition associated with
considerable morbidity and burden on health care
expenditure.Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is
characterised by wheals, angioedema, or both, which occur
for six weeks or more. Itchy, red and raised wheals in CSU
are thought to occur as a result of skin mast cell activation,
local vasodilatation and increased vascular permeability
which are the cardinal features of the disease. Serum
