¬Management of Dehydration in Children: Effect of Nursing Protocol
Sohair Morshidy Ismail Khider;
Abstract
Dehydration is one of the leading causes of mortality in children worldwide. Diarrhea has the highest incidence compared to any childhood disease in all regions of the world and kills approximately 1.5 million children each year, accounting for 30% of all deaths in children under 5 years old (Retezar et al., 2011). Research studies demonstrate that despite the availability of effective techniques for management of dehydration in children, nurses cannot effectively manage it. Therefore, the present study aimed to study the effect of nursing protocols in management of dehydration in children.
