Comparing accuracy of complete versus partial limiting design of computer guided surgical stent (in vitro study)

Abstract
Two edentulous dummy mandibles were used. The two mandibles were radiographed using CBCT machine. .
Implant planning was performed by the software using the pre-operative CBCT, 8 Implants for each mandible were planned in the center of the alveolar ridge of the mandible.
A surgical stent was designed according to the previous plan and converted to a stl format on the same software for 3D printing using a 3D printer.
Eight implants were inserted for each jaw. Four implant in each quadrant. Drilling was started with the left side and for each quadrant from the posterior to the anterior.one osteotomy site was done by completely limiting design followed by partially limiting design, beginning with the completely limiting design.
The completely limiting design was achieved by drilling using the full sets when the computer guided surgical stent in place and the implant placed using this design were named group (A) and the implants numbered (A1-A8).
The partially limiting design was achieved by using the initial drill when the guided stent was in place and the remaining drills were used free hand(after removal of the surgical stent) .the implants placed using this design were named group (B) and the implants numbered (B1-B8).
