Abstract


T. gondii is an obligate intracellular protozoan parasite capable of infecting many species of mammals, including man, and birds. It is one of the most common wide spread parasites found in nature and is transmitted by. eating raw or under cooked meat containing tissue cysts or through ingestion of oocysts from soil contaminated with infected eat's feces. Toxoplasmosis can be also transmitted transplacentally, accidentally in the laboratory or through blood transfusion.
