EVALUATION OF RELATION BETWEEN MINERAL FERTILIZATION IN BARLEY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION
Mona Ismail Ewies El Sayed;
Abstract
During winter seasons of 2010/2011 and 2011/2012, two field experiments were conducted at Giza Agricultural Research Station, Giza Governorate, Egypt, to investigate the effects of 4 soil addition treatments (Control without fertilizer, 22.5 kg N/fad as nitrate ammonium + humic acid, 45 kg N/fad as nitrate ammonium, humic acid ) and 6foliar application treatments (spray with only water as a control , Azotobacter, Azotobacter + yeast,Azotobacter + yeast + amino acids (0.5 ML /1L), Azotobacter + yeast + amino acids (1ML /1L),Amino acids (1ML /1L), as various fertilizer resources and their interaction on growth, yield,yield attributesand yield quality of barley.
In Vegetative growth,considering the foliar spraying treatments, the trend of all studied traits of barley i.e. plant height, flag leaf area, each total tillers ,fertile tillers as well as tiller index varied among spraying foliar application treatments. The maximum readings of plant height, flag leaf area, number of leaves and tiller index were recorded by spraying with Azotobacter + yeast + amino acid (1cm) and amino acid . only number of leaves m2 was no significant in soil addition and interaction.
In Yield and its components the effect of foliar spraying ,soil applying of fertilizer sources and their interactions on barley yield cultivar Giza123 criteria i.e spike length, grain number /spike , spike number/m2 ,1000 grain wt, grain yield (ton/fed),straw yield(ton/fed),biological yield (ton/fed) and harvest index respectively were significant with azotobacter + yeast+ amino acid has a pronounce positive effect on the most criteria of barley yield and its components except the 1000 grain wt was no significant in soil addition.
