Abstract
Big-data technology in recent years has become increasingly utilized to process
huge amount of data in a timely manner. The growth in the amount of visual data - videos and images
- generated nowadays raises the need for porting computer vision applications to big-data
frameworks in order to increase the processing throughput of these applications.
On the other hand, developers and the scientific community have already porte many computer vision
algorithms to the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) tha successfully accelerates these algorithms
thanks to its data-parallel architecture.
