Evaluation of Color Stability, Translucency and Flexural Strength of two types of Cubic Zirconia
Heba Allah Hesham Hussein Mahmoud Ismail;
Abstract
Combining superior esthetics as well as high mechanical properties have great interest nowadays. Core zirconia has exceedingly high mechanical properties but because of its opaque appearance it should be veneered with ceramic material. It’s main drawback was chipping of the veneering material.
Afterwards they introduced the monolithic translucent nano zirconia which combines strength and optical properties so can be used without veneering ceramic material.
Recently, they introduced the new innovative cubic ultra-translucent zirconia having very high optical properties with lower mechanical properties compared to the two previously described types.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the color stability, translucency, surface roughness, and biaxial flexural strength of BruxZir Anterior and Katana UT before and after hydrothermal aging.
