ANALYTICAL STUDIES ON SEVERAL ANTICANCER DRUGS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS
Deia El-Din AbdEl-Hady AbdEL-Moneim;
Abstract
The present thesis . deals with the voltammetric, electrophoretic and chromatographic studies of several anticancer drugs and their applications in biological fluids or pharmaceuticals.
The drugs-DNA, drugs-biomembrane or drugs-protein interactions
,
have been investigated. In addition, analysis of the data obtained by applying some principal methods of chemometric analysis has been achieved. The anticancers under investigation were: tarabine PFS, adriblastina and opticaUy active methotrexate.
The contents of thesis could be summarized as follows:
(1) The first chapter includes an introduction to five sections, the first section gives a summary to techniques and electrodes that have been used in the stripping voltammetric studies of drugs as well as a brief description for the least square method which is used for analysis of the data obtained. The second section involves a brief description for two methods of capillary electrophoresis: micellar electrokinetic chromatography and cyclodextrin modified micellar electrokinetic chromatography which were used for investigating the• electrophoretic properties of the studied drugs. The third section explains briefly some principles of high performance liquid chromatography with three mobile phase modes: reversed phase, normal phase and polar ionic phase. In addition the role of teicoplanin macrocyclic antibiotic as a stationary phase has been described. The fourth section shows the role of high performance bioaffinity and displacement chromatography in the interaction between optically active drugs and human serum albumin. Finally, the fifth section includes the literature survey of previous analytical
studies for tarabine PFS, adriblastina, methotrexate and folic acid.
