: its incidence , the antibiotics responsible for its occurrence, the
• response to treatment regimens , and the definition of the relapse rate


This study was done during the peroid from September1999 to

April 2000 .

In this study 160 individuals were included , all were subjected to stool culture & ELISA . they were divided into 2 groups :-
A - The first group : consisted of 100 hospitalized patients , who

received antibiotics and developed diarrhoea . These pati nts subjected to the following
1- Complete medical history.

2- complete physical examination .

3- Complete blood count .

4- Stool culture on the following media:­

-CCFA media

-CLEO agar media

- Subouraud dextrose agar.

-This group was further subdivided into 2 subgroups:-

- CDTA- positive subgroup


- CDTA- negative subgroup

8- The second group (control group): consisted of 60 individuals free

from diarrhoea [ 30 cases hospitalized for more than 30 days , Lnd 30

adults healthy individuals ] .
