Effect of eradication of H. Pylori on Glutathione s- transferase activity in gastritis
Amir Helmy Samy;
Abstract
Attention has been focused on the association of oxygen free radicals and the pathogenesis of H.Pylori induced antral gastritis.
H.Pylori infection induce damage to membrane lipids and cytoplasmic proteins ( Verion et al., 1995) and this enhance the susceptability of the gastric epithelial cell to the reactive oxygen radical generated during inflammation.
Oxygen free radicals are eliminated by free radical scavengers as glutathione and glutathione dependent enzymes as Glutathione s-transferase.
The aim of the present work is to clarify the effect of eradication of
H.Pylori infection on Glutathione- s-transferase activity.
Thirty patients were the subjects of the work , divided into three equal groups and the fourth group represent third group after eradication of
H.Pylori in fection. •
