Studies On Some Heterocyclic Compounds

Abstract

The work embedded in this thesis was divided into three chapters, covering introduction, results and discussion, and experi­ -mental work.

Chapter 1:

This chapter included two sections:

Section A: This section include short review in the chemistry of five/six membered heterocyclic cyanine dyes in the recent literature.

Section B: This section include short rev1ew m the chemistry of s1x membered heterocyclic cyanine dyes in the recent literature.

Chapter II:

This chapter was divided into two parts as follow:

Part I This part discussed cyanine dyes of benzo[2,3-b; 2' ,3" -b"] bis pyrazolo[4,5-b]-!,4-(oxa-, thia- and pyra-)zine-6,12-dione and was divided into three sections as represented below:

Section (A):

This section included the discussion of the synthesis of cyanine dyes incorporating the new heterocyclic ring system of benzo[2,3-b; 2" ,3'-b']bis-pyrazolo[4,5-b]-1,4-(oxa-, thia-, and pyra­ )-zine-6,12-dione.
