BLADDER DYSFUNCTION IN PARKINSON'S DISEASE CLINICAL AND URODYNAMIC STUDIES

Abstract
Bladder abnormalities are surprisingly common in patients with parkinson's disease, as reported in 70% of the patients. The present study aimed at demonstrating any possible urodynamic as well as electrophysiological changes in patients with parkinson's disease and to elucidate any relationship to the L-dopa treatment or the transurerthral resection of the prostate . The material used was 35 subjects divided into 4 groups:
Group I:
Ten newly diagnosed patients with neither urinary complaints nor prostatic enlargement, and no drug treatment was taken.
Group II:
Ten patients suffering froni urinary complaints but with no evidence of prostatic enlargement and 'they were on L-dopa treatment.
Group III:
Six patients were suffering from urinary complaints as well as prostatic enlargement.
Group IV:
Nine nonnal volunteers of the same age and sex were. taken as controls. All patients were subjected to the following investigations :
1- Thorough neurological and urological examination.
Group I:
