Post Bariatric Surgery Abdominoplasty

Abstract
Summary
Patients who experience massive weight loss after bariatric surgery are left with disfiguring skin laxity; this aesthetically displeasing consequence can impede the patient's psychological, as well as functional improvement and therefore necessitates excision to achieve a flat abdomen.
When considering cosmetic procedures of the abdomen, awareness of the anatomy of the abdominal wall is important. A clear understanding of the blood supply and soft tissue layers is critical when planning incisions, determining the amount of tissue to be removed and deciding whether concomitant lipectomy or liposuction is indicated.
