Comparative Study of Different Techniques for Intravenous Regional Anaesthesia

Abstract
In an attempt to reduce the dose of local anaesthetic during IVRA of the upper limb the present study, fentanyl, sufentanil and clonidine were combined to lignocaine .
The study was designed in a randomized fashion to determine
the efficacy of this approaches in providing analgesia during and after
surgery and to evaluate its safety after immediate deflation of the
Ir tourniqnet following IVRA.
r Sixty unpromedicated patients ASA physical status I or II, were
assigned to the following groups :
Group I 1a: (n of patients= 5) received procaine 0.5% in 40 ml.
1b : (n of patients= 5) received procaine/caffiene 0.5% in 40
ml.
