KARYOTYPIC DISORDERS IN NON.. METASTASIZING AND METASTASIZING COLORECTAL CARCINOMA
Hoda Mahmoud Hamdy elaasi;
Abstract
In the present work, five non-metastasizing and five metastasizing colorectal carcinoma were studied.They were subjected to tissue culture technique and further cytogenetic analysis. All studied cases were divided into :direct chromosomal preparation technique ,synchronization method (HRB),and short term tissue culture. All case::; were successfully examined by GTG-banding procedure but most of which had low yield of metaphases.
All karyotypes examined showed numerical abenations (I 00%)
\•vhile some had both numerical and structural chromosomal changes
(40%). The most involved chromosomes in gains were 3,7,11,13,15,20,22
0
(each was found in one karyotype) while chromosomes 4,5,8,17,18 were
the only ri1onosomic ones and each was implicated in two different karyotypes. Chromosome ll was found to be lost in one karyotype, and in another case, it was involved in gain.
