Abstract
Immunohistochemical techniques were used for detection of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) as a proliferation marker. The used kit was PClO mouse monoclonal antibody supersensitive ready to use for PCNA proliferation marker and supersensitive-Biotin-streptavidine amplified detection system. Our study included liver specimens of 60
Egyptian patients: 30 hepatocellular carcinomas with their non-tumourous tissues (2 fibrolamellar, 7 trabecular, I6 trabecular and acinar and 5 solid cases), 27 cases collected to cover the most common diseases that might predispose to HCC (2 cases acute hepatitis, I2 cases chronic viral hepatitis due to chronic HCV infection, 2 cases chronic viral hepatitis due to chronic HBV infection and II cases of liver cirrhosis due to chronic HCV infection), a single case of hepatic adenoma and two normal liver specimens used as control.
