Abstract

Continent urinary diversion was developed to improve patient quality of life and give patient more satisfying than the traditional conduit diversion that used for long time.
Orhtotopic urinary diversion is the first choice whenever possible and any patient is candidate for orthotopic diversion until proved otherwise.
Continent cutaneous urinary diversion is currently the only viable option of continent urinary diversion techniques when orthtopic diversion is not feasible.
Any patient who requires bladder replacement is a potential candidate for continent cutaneous diversion. Bladder replacement is indicated when the native bladder is life threatening (malignat disease), useless (dysfunction), or maldeveloped.
