Abstract


Endocrine disorders exhibit wide variety of rheumatic manifestations, one of these disorders is the thyroid dysfunction.
Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism can induce many musculoskeletal manifestations ranging from myalgia and arthralgia to true myopathy and arthritis.
Thyroid dysfunction may be associated with osteoporosis which may be related to disease duration in hyperthyroidism or to thyroxine therapy (dose, duration) in hypothyroidism.
Sicca syndrome was detected m cases with thyroid dysfunction which denote a common pathogenesis for both disorders.
Fibromyalgia syndrome •still a point of controverse about the pathophysiologic process responsible for association with thyroid dysfunction.
