Preparation and In-vivo Biological Evaluation of Some Organic Compounds as Radionuclide Carriers for Medical Application

Adli Abd Allah Selim Abd El-Maksoud;

Abstract

Technetium is the most widely used radionuclide in diagnostic
nuclear medicine due to its nearly ideal physical and nuclear properties as
well as its availability. Selection of 99mTc-dioxime derivatives to target
tumor is based on the reported finding that dioxime derivatives capable of
complexing with reduced Tc-99m allowing us to image tumor sites using
a gamma camera. In this study, both diamino pyrimidine and diamino
cyclohexane were selected as a precursor for synthesis of dioxime
derivatives.
This thesis comprises three parts in addition to references.
1. Introduction comprises the introduction which presents brief
accounts on radiochemistry, radioactivity, radioisotopes and
nuclear medicine, technetium-99m, radiopharmaceuticals, labeling
with 99mTc, labeling methods with 99mTc and technetium
generations. This introduction also includes brief accounts on
oxime, anticancer effect of dioxime, dioximes applications and
