Practices And De erminants Of Initial Neonatal Feeding In Maternity .Hospitals

Abstract
This study is addressed to investigate the practices and major determinants of neonatal feeding in maternity wards and hospitals in Cairo and its impact on infant feeding pattern.
The study subjects included 764 neonates and their mothers
whom were delivered and randomly recruited from 7 hospitals at Cairo .Five hundreds neonates were followed-up postnataly for 6 months. They were categorized according to the type of the hospi tal into 7 categories; University hospital(122), Health Insurance hospital(4l),Curative Organization hospital(95),Private hospital (44),Educational hospital (58}, Ministry of Health hospital (94),
and Military hospital(46 neonates).
