PRODUCTION AND EVALUATION OF LOW DENSITY POLY ETHYLENE FILMS CONTAINING ANTIMICROBIAL AGENTS
Khaled Sayed Ahmed Ibrahem Nagy;
Abstract
The LOPE (control) film had the lowest value of burst strength (3.8 kg/cm2), while, the burst strength for the other antimicrobial films ranged from 4.0 kg/cm2 to 5.2 kg/cm2. From the above result, it could be concluded that the burst strength of incorporated potassium sorbate and calcium propionate with LOPE "antimicrobial films" were significantly increased as the concentrations of antimicrobial agents increased, being 5.0 kg/cm2 and 5.2 kg/cm2 with 4% potassium sorbate and calcium propionate, respectively.
