COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN NORMAL SALINE (0.9%) AND HYPERTONIC SALINE (2.7%) BEFORE SPINAL ANALGESIA

Abstract
•Subarachnoid analgesia causes hypotension from sysmpathetic nervous block which may be detrimental if excessive. Administration of
1-V fluids before the induction of spinal analgesia can reduce the incidence of hypotension. However, decreases in blood pressure can not be totally inhibited even through administration of large volumes of crystalloids or colloids. This work aimed to compare the effects of using hypertonic 2.7% versus isotonic saline 0.9% as a preloading before spinal analgesia on some haemodynamics parameters.
This study was carried •out in Alexandria Main University Hospital on Sixty (60) adult patients of both sexes scheduled for lower abdominal surgery under spinal analgesia. All patients ASA I or 11. -Patients were categorized randomly into three groups:
