chemical studies on microbial starch hydrolyzing enzymes especially debranching enzymes"

Mona Youssf Osman;

Abstract

The present investigation deals with chemical studies on bacterial pullulanase. It includes studies aiming at searching for a potent bacterial strain producing active pullulanase. The studies also included the production of the enzyme in batch and continuous cultures. The studies also included the immobilization of Bacillus /icheniformis on different caniers by different methods of immobilization. The productivity of pullulanase was evaluated using the immobilized cells of Hacillu.\• licheniformis in. batch, repeated batch, and continuous culture in packed bed bioreactors. The studies also include the immobilization of the pa11ially purified enzyme on different canies using different immobilization techniques. The properties of the free and immobilized enzymes were compared. Separation, fractionation. purification, and properties of the purified enzyme were also investigated.
