Abstract


Egypt has been among the top ten countries for number of people with diabetes representing a huge economic and social burden as people with diabetes are at risk of developing a number of disabiling and life threating health problem .
Cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death and disability among people with diabetes.
Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a major vascular complication and risk factor for lower-extremity amputation, especially in patients with diabetes. Diabetic foot complications are associated with a 15 fold increase for lower limb amputation .
Pathogenesis of diabetic vasculopathy (DV) seems to precipitate from a complex interaction between the blood milieu and the vasculature, and mediated by several biochemical modulators.
