HISTOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE ... .J AGE RALATED CHANGES IN THE ADRENAL GLAND OF MALE ALBINORAT £1

Amira Adly Mohamed Kassab;

Abstract

The adrenal glands are multifunctional endocrinal organs that secrete a variety of hormones. Abundant experimental and clinical evidence has demonstrated that the adrenal glands are essential to life. However, as many other organs the adrenal gland undergoes changes with age. So the aim of the present work was to study the age related changes in the adrenal gland of male albino rats.

Aging constitutes a decreasing ability to survive even in the absence of disease due to changes occurring throughout the life at the level of the organelles, cells, organs and systems. It is characterized by progressive generalized physical deterioration and a decrement in function of the organism as a whole.
