E.FFECT OF DAILY HEMODIALYSIS ON L.EFT VilNTRICULAR MASS INDEX AND MEAN ARTERIAL. BL.OOD PRESSURE
Ayman Ali Seddik;
Abstract
The aim of dialysis adequacy is to deliver the patient an efficient and well tolerated treatment that allows him to have good personal quality of life (Canaud et al., 1995).
Short daily haemodialysis involves dialysis for 90 to 120 minutes daily for 6 to 7 days per week (Buoncristiani et al.,
1997).
Daily haemodialysis showed great improvement with better nutritional indices, better blood pressure control and important cardiovascular amelioration particularly as regard the left ventricular hypertrophy which has a strong tendency to normalize independently of the blood pressure control (Traeger et al., 1998).
This study showed the following results:
$:There was valuable. improvement in the quality of life, decrease symptoms of volume over load, amelioration of uraemic symptoms, reduction in the need for hospitalization and improvement of physical and mental function with daily haemodialysis.
