VASCULARTUMOURS OFTHE MUSCULO-SiillLETAL SYSTEM
NAZMY MouNIR HABAsHY;
Abstract
Vascular tumours of bone, arising from blood vessels. still represent a debatable group of lesions. So, in this work, we aimed to clear and show how to diagnose and manage the different tumours separately.
The first chapter is concerned with the blood supply of bone. and showed a modern theory of centrifugal flow of blood through cortical bone in shafts of long bones, in contrast to an earlier concept of substantial centripetal arterial now into the cortex from periosteal vessels.
The second dwpter is concerned with classifications of bone tumours and showed how the classifications started by Virchow ( 1865 ), till the most recent one by Moser ( 1987). Also, vascular tumours are classified into tumours characterized by a mass ofvascular element and tumours characterized by increased vascularity.
