The area is covered by basement rocks of different varieties. This area was chosen for the present study due to its situation nearby the talc mine in wadi Atshan, ilmenite mine in wadi Abu Ghalqa and ancient gold mine in wadi Atshan. The present study focused on new discoveries in the area around Gebel Sarobi.
The author cprried out four trips fulfilling field geologic trips, sampling (113 samples) and recording field photographs. In the laboratory the samples were analyzed semiquantitatively by emission spectrography and checked quantitatively by atomic absorption, spectrography.
