Abstract


Language is defined as an arbitory symbolic system that pairs sounds and signs to meaning. Language is also, a socially shared code or conventional system for representing concepts through the use of arbitory symbols and rules­ governed communications of these symbols.


Language assessment is the description of the child language behavior for the purpose of identifYing a problem, planning intervention and anticipating prognosis.


Standardized tests are the most formal for assessing

• language function. Standardized tests allow a meaningful comparison of performance among children


This study includes translation and standardization of the Preschool Language Scale -4. Modified PLS 4 is used to evaluate the language of young children at the age range fi•om two months to seven years five months, and to determine if the language is normally developed or delayed.
