Abstract
The aim of this work was to study the effect of antioxidant vitamins and N-acetylcysteine in patients with acute exacerbation ofbronchial asthma.
This study included sixty patients with acute exacerbation of bronchial asthma from chest department and chest outpatient • clinic of Ain Shams University Hospital.
All the patients received conventional treatment of bronchial asthma in the form ofB2 agonist [oral & inhaler) and theophylline tablet then they were divided into 4 groups.
Group I received antioxidant vitamins A, C and E for 1 month.
Group II received N-acetylcysteine orally for 1 month.
Group III received antioxidant vitamins A, C and E. and
N-acetylcysteine for 1 month.
Group IV received conventional treatment only for 1 month.
