SCADA Systems Based On Mobile Techniques

Alaa Tharwat Abdel-Monaaim Othman;

Abstract

Building modern control systems for large scale plants with different and huge system parameters, minimum cost, maximum flexibility, and high performance requires reliable data transmission media. SCADA which stands for supervisory control data acquisition is a data gathering oriented system. Used to collect data from many different types of transmission medium. But, in every transmission medium there are many drawbacks and problems that may face the system designers.

In the mobile techniques, the mobile network GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) is used. It is suitable for the control requirements to cover a large area, to increase the efficiency and flexibility, and to decrease the cost.

The main objective of this work is to develop the SCADA communication to increase the flexibility and performance of the systems and to decrease the cost.
