EFFECT OF NITROGEN FERTILIZER AND SOME GROWTH REGULATORS ON THE YIELD AND QUALITY OF SUGAR BEET

Abstract
Four field experiments were carried out at the Research arid Experimental Farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Saba Basha, Alexandria University during 199511996 arid 1996/1997 seasons.

Two field experiments were carried out to study the effect of nitrogen fertilizer rates, N-application times arid their interactions on growth, yield, some physiological arid quality characters of sugar beet plant (Beta vulgaris,L.) variety Pleno, during 199511996 arid 199611997 seasons.
The design of the experiment in the two seasons was a complete randomized block design in four replications. Every Experiment included
15 treatments which were the combination of five levels of nitrogen
fertilizer (30, 60, 90, 120 arid 150 kg N/fad.) arid three times of nitrogen
application (T1 =at the first irrigation), (T2 = 1

Studied characters :
The following data were recorded at 110 and 140 days from sowing:
