Abstract


This study was conducted on 24 albino-rate to demonstrate the changes in histological structure during development in the pre- and post-natal period.


Twenty four albino rats were used for this study. The rats were studied in six ages; intrauterine third week of pregnancy, one day, one week and one month post-natal, four months old (adult) and 18 months old (senile).


Four rats were taken in every age. The pulmonary trunk was dissected from each rat, the specimens were processed to obtain semithin section. These sections were stained by toluidine blue then studied by light microscope.
