Abstract

The present work was carried out at the Experimental Farm.ofthe Dept. of Animal Production, Faculty of Agriculture, Kafr EI-Sheikh, Tanta University, to study the possibilities of involving sugar beet pulp in animal feeding, through, the determination of the chemical composition and nutritive value for this by-product and also, its incorporation in the conventioi1al ration.

In Egypt, large quantities of sugar beet pulp are now produced as a by­ product of sugar beet industry by the Delta Company of sugar at Kafr EL­ Sheikh. Also, other factories are prepare now to receive large quantities of sugar beet at Dakahlia, Abo Korkas, Fayoom and West Nobaria .which most increase the by- product of sugar beet.

Recently, there is a growing interest in cultivating sugar beet crop in all the Egyptian governorates. According to Ministry of Agriculture studies the expected quantities of sugar, pelleted beet pulp and sugar beet molasses will be 500.000, 200.000-250.000 and 200.000-250.000 tons, respectively, after working the new factories.
