EFFECT OF SOME ELEMENTS AND SOME INORGANIC PESTICIDES ON THE FERTILITY OF DIFFERENT SOILS AND ITS CONTENT OF NEMATODES

Marwa Mahmoud Zaki;

Abstract

The present study attempts to evaluate the fertility status of different soil types in Al-Sharkia governorate in Egypt before and after individually treatment with three different inorganic fertilizers and three different inorganic pesticides. The fertilizers: Gava 20- 20- 20 , Milagro Cropmax and Milagro Nutergold are used as sources of the major nutrients N,P and K elements and are applied in 5,10 and 15 rates. The used pesticides are Furadan 10% , Temik 10% and Vydate 10%. They are applied at the recommended rates ; 5, 7 and 20 ppm, respectively. Soil samples, representing the three soil types: sandy, silty and clayey, are collected from Abassa, Azazi and Elaem areas, respectively. The samples are analyzed for various fertility parameters, such as pH, electrical conductivity, porosity, etc, before and after application of the fertilizers and the pesticides.
The fertility status of these selected soils is very poor as indicated from the determined parameters of the control samples. These parameters are far below the satisfactory standard ranges reported in the literature. The soils are poor in organic matter content mainly due to the dryness and hot climate. The organic matter content of the untreated soil samples increases in the order: sandy < silty < clayey.
