"Asynchronous Routing in Digital Telephone Networks"
Mahmoud Ahma d Mousa;
Abstract
This thesis has two folds: Simulation of digital t elephone network and studies of different parameters whjch d etennine the routing and selects the best route and less time delay for arri ving data from source to destination in digi tal te lephone networks that the best a lgorithm had been studied to detem1ine the routing.
The research contains a brief description and analysis of network architectures and topologies. A descripti on of describe network components, network functions, and network topologies is given to let the reader identify the domain of applicability of the proposed system. The thesis also discuses some algorithms wruch detemune the routing in digital networks and the algoritluns wruch calculate the shortest path from source to destination, and then forming the routing tables for each node in the network.
A newly proposed routing scheme has been studied and simulated. The proposed simulation model describes the most parameters used in the sim ulation. The al gorithm of detem1ining the routing, calculating the shortest path between two nodes, updating the routing ta bles according to the traffic to detennine the ro uting and to arrive with small d elay, tacking into account the changes that may happen on the network. Then it presents the flow control al goritlun, where the allowed number inside the network is determined and the allowed delay from source to the destination to get smaller delay time and larger throughput.
The thesis has concluded that the adaptive routing scheme is the optimal one for such type of networks. It achieves minimum delay and max.im un1 throughput.
