Software Implementation of LTE-A Mobile System using Matlab

Abstract


Long Term Evolution (LTE) is the latest evolution of cellular standards and followed by Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A). Both LTE and LTE-A are based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) modulation scheme and the associated access scheme for downlink and Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDM) for uplink. The results of the feasibility study for the LTE-A are published in 3GPP Technical Report 36.912. This technical report showed that the LTE-A met the International Mobile Telecommunication (IMT) requirements. LTE-A deals with the higher data rate, which used over wide transmission bandwidth ranges of 20 MHz to 100 MHz. LTE-A met International Telecommunication Union (ITU) requirements for 4th Generation (4G) known as International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT-Advanced) by adding new techniques to LTE release 8 such as advanced Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) technology to enhance spectral efficiency, Coordinated Multipoint transmission reception
