EFFECT OF INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORTIVE NURSING ETHICS GUIDELINE ON ENHANCING NURSES' KNOWLEDGE AND PERFORMANCE

Abstract
Aim of the study was to examine the effect of an instructional supportive nursing ethics guideline about enhancing nurse's knowledge and performance. The study setting was postnatal departments at Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital. The study design was an interventional quiz-experimental (pre-post design). Three tools were used; an Interviewing Questionnaire Schedule, an Observational Checklist & Nurse's Satisfaction Assessment Sheet. Sample size 38 nurses were recruited through a purposive sampling. Results revealed that, a highly significant improvement post-intervention compared to pre-intervention regarding nurses’ knowledge & performance related to utilize of an Instructional Supportive Nursing Ethics Guideline. Conclusion it was evident that an Instructional Supportive Nursing Ethics Guideline was significantly enhanced the nurses to utilize ethics at postnatal departments, also there was high level of satisfaction among nurses observed regarding utilization of an Instructional Supportive Nursing Ethics Guideline.
