Abstract
This thesis presents the design, implementation and evaluation of a new
smart card operating system for highly secure applications. The thesis con-
sists of seven chapters besides the table of contents, list of gures and abbre-
viations, references and appendix.

Chapter one: Introduction
This chapter starts with presenting the motivation behind this research
work. Smart cards are considered one of the main components of trusted
networks and identity management systems, this is because smart cards are
the main security provider for these critical systems. The chapter gives a brief
description of what this thesis includes, to help reader with a better follow
up. The chapter ends with giving the main contributions of this research
