PERCUTANEOUS PEDICLE SCREW FIXATION IN MANAGEMENT OF DORSAL AND LUMBAR FRACTURE SPINE
MOHAMED SAAD ABD EL-AZIZ;
Abstract
Percutaneous spine fixation is a safe technique for treatment of thoracolumbar spinal fractures. In this work, we discussed the percutaneous spine fixation in thoracolumbar fractures.
The 1st chapter was about normal anatomy of thoracolumbar spine. We described the normal thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, the ligaments especially posterior longitudinal ligament, the pedicle and the normal curvature of spine.
The 2nd chapter was about the thoracolumbar fracture classification, Denis classification, Gaines classification, thoracolumbar injury classification and severity score, spinal column stability and mechanism of burst fracture.
The 3rd chapter was about patient management, examination and imaging of thoracolumbar spinal injury.
The 4th chapter was about treatment options of thoracolumbar fractures, conservative treatment, and surgical treatment rather open or percutaneous.
The 5th chapter was about patients and methods, preoperative evaluation, clinical and radiological findings, patient selection and preoperative planning, methods of surgical intervention and postoperative follow up.
The 6th chapter was the results of this study.
The 7th chapter discussed the complication we had.
The 8th chapter we presented some of the cases we had done.
